Buildable vs AutoCAD
A simpler starting point for an idea. A clear view of where professional CAD still belongs.
Different starting points
Buildable begins with a description and a configurable kit-house frame. You can inspect it in your browser, adjust dimensions, leave revision-bound notes and export a concept. AutoCAD provides broad 2D drafting and 3D CAD tools, including DWG workflows on desktop, web and mobile.
| Need | Buildable today | AutoCAD |
|---|---|---|
| Start a kit-house concept | Guided template and browser preview | General-purpose drafting and modeling tools |
| DWG authoring | Not supported | Native DWG workflow |
| Concept exports | JSON, CSV, SVG, STL and GLB | DWG-centered professional CAD workflow |
Less setup at the beginning
Our focus is reducing the steps between describing an idea, inspecting a concept and communicating a revision. That is a workflow goal, not a measured speed advantage or a claim of equivalent drafting coverage.
Can Buildable replace AutoCAD?
For a supported early kit-house concept, Buildable offers a focused starting point. For native DWG editing and broad professional drafting requirements, evaluate AutoCAD. Buildable has not demonstrated feature or engineering-quality parity.
