Good ideas deserve a clearer path to being built.
Buildable brings describing, inspecting and refining a design into one working conversation.
Our background
Buildable’s direction draws on the team’s experience with complex housing and industrial design: work where the geometry, materials, documentation and people must agree. We are applying that perspective to a more approachable design workflow.
Why we started
The starting question was simple: could a person describe what they want to make, explore a useful candidate and bring the right professional into the same review loop? Kit houses are our first focus. The broader ambition includes industrial systems, fabrication and other designed products.
What we value
- Make complexity understandable. Give people a clear next step and explain the consequences of a design choice.
- Keep human judgment visible. Automation supports qualified professionals; it does not invent approvals.
- Keep decisions traceable. Briefs, context, feedback and exports should refer to the same design revision.
- Respect the craft. Good design needs material knowledge, reliable geometry and careful review.
- Earn trust through evidence. A beautiful preview is a beginning. Quality must hold up in the details.
Our first chapter
We began with a kit-house concept studio: describe a frame, adjust its dimensions, inspect it in 3D and preserve the next revision. Our next chapter connects that workflow to durable projects, specialist tools and local expert review.
Eelon Lappalainen
Our first expert entering onboarding, Eelon holds a Doctor of Science (Technology). His research examines design management, BIM and how situational information supports decisions in construction. His 2024 Aalto University doctoral thesis studied digital situational awareness in infrastructure project management.
His validation service scope and eligibility are being established before bookings open. ResearchGate profile · Aalto doctoral thesis. Institutional affiliations describe research background, not institutional endorsement of Buildable.
